Andy Black – A Zen-Like Poker Star

Andy Black is a poker star from Ireland. Andy’s dominance has been noticeable for a long time in and around poker tournaments. His incredible results at the WSOP are not an aberration but a true testament to the level of playing he conducts at the tables. Do not let that wide eyed grin fool you, Andy is a shark at the tables and is very well known to make some really insane calls which more times than not, turn out to be the best decisions.

Andy Black also has an interesting past. He makes not of the fact that his younger days were filled with nights of partying and destructive behaviour. But throughout the years Andy has followed the teachings of Buddhists and is now a proud Buddhist. He exclaims that his reasoning for this change of pace was enlightenment and he says he is at peace now more than ever. The transformation has not however hurt his game. One would think this change of philosophies in life would change his demeanour while playing poker, but even though Buddhist and their religion breed pacifism you would find any timid behaviour from Andy at the poker tables, he is still the aggressive shark he has always been. He is currently fighting it out for the EPT Finals in Monte Carlo.

We wish Andy luck in all his 5 carded endeavours and we have a funny feeling that the shark will continue to feed on the fish while outside the card rooms, Andy will be as calm as his prey and live a full and meaningful life.
