The Vic in London became very busy on Thursday evening as ∏ the sold out field of 400 filled up the casino card room. Phil Ivey was there as well as Erik Friberg. 1a EPT London. Hopefully this next event will have more fireworks as the best poker players in Europe are at the tables. We wish Doyle Brunson and Phil Helmuth were here, but what the heck? It will be a
great poker tournament anyway!
Coming off the crazy and wild Barcelona EPT, where a filled casino looked as Phil Ivey come very close, but fall just short to the very aggressive play by Bjorn-Erik Glenne, the EPT came through its second stop in two weeks. Some think the time is too close between EPT's because of the heavy buy in of 5,000 Euro. Of course Phil Ivey can afford it but a lot of amateur poker players join and its a heavy cost for them in a two week span.
Having spent June and July in LV Nevada, with two hundred plus poker tables in a single setting, and players stressed as far as the eye can totally look, its interesting to see a tournament that has to use more than two poker rooms to play its 20 tables. The place was jammed packed and it made of very tight play, and I don't man poker styles. |
