Pippa Flanders, wife of poker player Tim Flanders, has come in first in the World Poker Open to claim one of the biggest pot for a woman in Europe. Flanders, from Preston claimed $200,000 that came with the title.

With only three women in the field out of eighty playing, it seemed long and hard that a female is to claim this years PartyPoker.com World Open II. Pippa Flanders, was too forceful for the rest of the star filled field. Pippa, her 22-year-old daughter's cuddly stuffed toy donkey at the poker table as good lucky item. She killed her adversaries.

They were no match for Pippa, though. Husband Tim, who is a respected player, he was there giving her much needed support.

The fact that she is a woman is of no concern to Pippa, she just wants to play poker and be great at it, and of course, is in it for the money. We will surely hear more about her and her poker achievements, and will follow
in the shoes of Annie Duke and Liz Lieu.
