Everyone’s poker strategy differs; some aggressive; some passive; some maniacs. Usually ones poker style is has a direct correlation with ones personality. The more aggressive players seem to be a bit aggressive in real life as well and so on. I have never ever met a timid person in real life and found him to be aggressive at the poker table. Personality traits carry over to the poker table. If you are a bad liar, forget your chances at ever being good at poker because to play poker, loyalty, honesty, sportsmanship and a code of morality is thrown out the window.
In poker, deception is the key to winning and uncovering your foe’s deceptions is also the key. If morality and good sportsmanship motivates you to play a game forget poker. Lies and deceipt are the name of this game. Playing ABC poker can get you far especially when playing against professional poker players. Professional poker players have a hard time
playing against people who play ABC poker and maniacs. Maniacs are people who aren’t shy about using the all-in move – a lot! And for the professional its hard to put the maniac on a hand, which is what makes the professionals great poker players. What style you choose will be your own, but be sure to note that if you cannot escape your own character traits and take on a new style where your friends and foes don’t know what to expect, you wont go far. |
